The Makeup Tag

Hey Beauty Bees,

Today I thought it would be fun to create a makeup tag. I love watching people do tags on YouTube and on blogs, so I thought why not make up some beauty questions and tag some of the beautiful friends and followers I have come to know over the last couple of months. Feel free to add or take away any questions and have fun girls :) Anyone can do this tag and don't forget to tag a few people as well.
I tag @Clareken86 @guilianna13 @ItsKatParker @BeautyLogie @CaledonianKitty
NYX HD Photohenic Concealer

What foundation do you use?
Covergirl's Outlast Stay Fabulous foundation in buff beige. This is probably one of the best foundations I have ever tried and would recommend it to anyone for any skin types.  It covers extremely well and I do not have to use much concealer afterwards.

How about concealer?
NYX HD Photogenic Concealer in CW04 Beige. Once again a very great concealer. I have been using this concealer for a couple years now and have repurchased it twice already.

Beauty Buzz Trial - Nuxe Paris Skincare

Hey Beauty Bees,

Today I am here to talk to you about a skincare company called Nuxe Paris. They use natural oils in all of there products. They try hard and succeed on being a company that use as much natural ingredients as possible. I received three different products from them and here is what I thought about them.

Reve de Miel
RĂªve de Miel Ultra-Nourishing Lip Balm - $19
This thick lip balm is a great product for the harsh cold winter coming up. As our lips become dry or chapped, I am confident in telling you, that this lip balm with honey and precious oils will help nourish, repair, soothe and protect even the driest and most chapped lips. With just one use, before bed, I woke up with the softest and smoothest lips that none of my other lip balms could ever do. It took me a while of thinking and some research to realize that the subtle taste I was getting was grapefruit and the scent of honey was delightful. I will most definitely be keeping this product on my bedside table to apply before bed and in the morning, so I can avoid the chapped lips of Winter. Just be careful on how much you use at once, since it is a thicker formula you only need a little bit at a time.

Top 5 Best and Worst 2014 Emmy's Red Carpet Fashion

Hey Beauty Bees,

I am back to talk about the Emmy's Red Carpet fashion this time. Once again the celebs took the walk down the Red Carpet and strutted there stuff in different fashions. Throughout the night we saw alot of floor length gowns in the colors Red, White and Blue. (Yes, very patriotic I know) Like any other award show, some made it through in outfits that we awe'd at and some made us shake our heads in disappointment. Today, I will be sharing my top five best and worst looks of the night.

Camilla Alves looked amazing in this 3/4
sleeve lace like gown. It fit her well and the
design were very intricate and pretty without
being overpowering.
Heidi Klum looked amazing tonight in this red gown.
I was surprised on her choice since she is known for
wearing more sexy and revealing outfits, but was
happy to see her wear a dress more subdued and elegant.

VMA'S 2014 Red Carpet Fashion - Battle of the Trends

Hey Beauty Bees,

The Video Music Awards were tonight and what a show it was. A lot of great performances were done and many well deserved awards were given out. The most important thing we all cared about though was what everybody was wearing. This awards show displayed so many different trends (and I mean MANY) that I thought I would do a different kind of post, a red carpet battle. Who wore the trend better? Who missed there mark completely? Below I will be battling the following trends: Black LaceCutouts, Sheer, Crop Tops, Rompers, Leather, Sparkle, Prints, Plunging Neckline and Dress Slits.

Black Lace
Beyonce looks great in this full body dress that uses lace to show only parts of her skin. It is sexy and modest all at the same time. Also the mix of lace and leather fabrics is so edgy and fits her style perfectly.

Alexandra Shipp did not follow this trend well by trying to use too many of them at once, sheer, lace and sparkle. I would have liked it better if the skirt was short because it just looks weird when the lace comes back into play at the bottom after the sheer space.

Beauty Buzz Trial - Ipsy Bag August 2014 "Beauty Schooled"

Hey Beauty Bees,

A new month brings a new Ipsy bag and this month I was very excited for the goodies I was going to be receiving since I saw the sneak peeks. (If you do not know what an Ipsy Bag is check out the Beauty Buzz Trial I did last month on it.) This month's theme was "Beauty Schooled". Although many of you are dreading having to go back to school, at least Ipsy gave us some awesome products to brighten our days.

Ipsy Bag August 2014
The makeup bag this month was so adorable. A white bag with orange polka dots resembling a pencil case, which you could actually use as one if you wanted. This has got to be my favorite bag out of all the ones I have ever received from Ipsy, and trust me there is many. I will most likely use this one for my purse since it can fit a ton of products and right now I am using a white and light brown bag so I feel it will go well with it.

Now on to the most important part, the products I got this month :)

Beauty Buzz Trial - Flirty Fingerz Nail Box Subscription

Hey Beauty Bees,

If you are a lover of nail art design or are just looking for something different to do on your nails, then Flirty Fingerz Nail Box is for you.

What: A nail design kit containing two inspired nail designs and all the tools to create the looks, along with trendy nail wraps.

Cost: $16.95 + shipping

* I received there One Time Nail Design
Subscription Kit. They also have a Monthly Kit ($14.99 + shipping) and a Lil Dolls Monthly Kit for little girls that will begin Fall of 2014.

When I received this package in the mail, the bright pink color of the box made me very excited to jump into it and see what nail goodies I had received. All boxes provide name brand products that are fashionable and trendy!

The first thing I noticed when I had opened the box was Essie's "No Chips Ahead" Chip Free Top Coat. This was a fun surprise as I was not expecting it. Also the fact that I have been in need of a good new top coat, being given the opportunity to test out a new one, an Essie one at that, was awesome. This top coat worked extremely well, giving me a chipless and shiny manicure for a whole week. It went on very smoothly and dried as fast as any other polish.
Value: $8.50

The next item was L'Oreal Paris "Project Runway Limited Edition" The Artsy Muse Nail Stickers. Pheww that was a long name. I love nail stickers and having a new pair to test out will be fun. These specific ones are interested as they have little jewels attached, a detail I have never tried or seen before. Also the design is very glamorous and would be fun to pair with a fancy outfit. I was not able to try them out before I put up this review, but I will say that I have used nail stickers from L'Oreal before and if they are made the same, they work extremely well and are so simple to apply. I remember them lasting around 2 weeks.
Value: $4.00

The next part of the package were two striped mystery bags. Each one containing a nail design card and the tools it would take to create that look.  (I did not try out each design yet but I will be doing separate posts on my attempt on creating each unique nail design. I did however test out the polishes from each bag which will be discussed below.)

Shopping Trip to Natick Mall & Haul

Hi. My name is Linda Abballe and I am a shopaholic. Yes, yes, yes I know, I just recently posted a shopping haul not too long ago, but my fiance and I went shopping, again. This time we went to a different mall; one that neither of us has ever gone to. Natick Mall in Natick Massachusetts. It is an upscale shopping mall about 30 mins west of Boston. What made this mall so appealing to me was the fact that it had all types of store. High end and discount stores. For example, one end of the mall had American Eagle, Wetseal, Pink, Forever 21 and Delias while at the other was Coach, Gucci, Burberry, Micheal Kors and Louis Vuitton. It's range of store types also was amazing: clothing stores to jewelry, toy shops to kitchen supplies, tech stores to book shops. The restaurants here were also amazing.

On the drive there we were not expecting what we saw. Entering the full parking lot was a bummer until we found out that there was a free two level parking garage beneath the mall with an elevator up to the 2-story shopping center. An even more interesting twist was that you could get a hand car-wash in that garage while you shopped. How convenient!

As we traveled up the elevator to our destination, it was almost like walking into heaven. Chris and I were both in shock on how clean and beautiful looking this mall was, as we both have never been to such a luxurious, upscale mall like this one before. The whole open, almost green peace atmosphere was very welcoming and encouraging for people to want to walk around and explore. We were caught by surprise when three birds flew by us while we were walking along a pathway to the other side; although there by accident it definitely adding to our feeling of being in a rain forest

Another great thing were how nice everybody working in the different stores or kiosks were to us. Greetings in abundance every time we entered a store while still giving you the space to shop. It was definitely a change of pace from the many snobby teenaged employees most shopping malls seem to have now a days.

As I could go on and on about how awesome this mall is, here is what we bought during our shopping trip:

Beauty Buzz Trial - Too Faced Beauty Blogger Darlings Collection

Hey Beauty Bees,

Today I wanted to talk to you about an amazing product collection I discovered from the brand Too Faced called Beauty Blogger Darlings. If you have seen my recent shopping haul from Rockingham Mall you would know that I bought this set from Sephora for only $20. I had been browsing the Sephora website that day and when this set came up I knew I just had to get it. Within three hours it was all mine and I barely made it into the car before I was carefully opening the packaging and tested out the mascara and bronzer. (If I weren't a blogger or I knew I wasn't going to be taking pictures and reviewing this, that box would have been ripped to pieces when I went to open it.)

This set features four deluxe sized products recommended and loved by four different bloggers/vloggers. They are a very good size for being a sample; basically half of the full size. What amazes me is that you are getting four items, $55 worth of product for only $20.
This set contains:
- 0.14 oz Chocolate Soleil Bronzer
- 0.17 oz Better Than Sex Mascara
- 0.17 oz Primed & Poreless Face Primer
- 0.17 oz Shadow Insurance Eye Shadow Primer

Teen Choice Awards 2014 - Red Carpet Fashion

Hi Beauty Bees,

What a night of style for the 16th Annual Teen Choice Awards, held in Los Angeles, California. It was a night of fun and beauty on the "Blue Carpet", normally known as the "Red Carpet", with celebrities making there way down and posing for pictures decked out in trends of the season. Some of the most popular trends that were showcased were punchy lips, crop tops, braids/ponytails, and bright colored styles, all very summer themed.

As any other day in Hollywood, some celebrity fashion choices were hits, some were misses and some made us shake our head in disappoint, thinking why would they even walk out in public like that. Here is my personal critique on some of the fashion scores and mishaps of the 2014 Teen Choice Awards.
Taylor Swift
Chloe Moretz
Taylor Swift - I truly want to like this look, as I love the color combo of the soft green fabric with the bright yellow shoes but it really did fall short for me. It seemed more like an apron I would find in my grandmothers house that got sliced in half at the stomach. The awkward lengthed mullet hair also was a turn off for me.

Chloe Moretz - I think this outfit is a complete flop. To begin with, the crop top is way too skinny showing way to much skin, especially for a look like this where she is already showing alot of leg. Next, although the shorts and and the sleeves on the jacket have the same pattern, it just did not go well together. One or the other would have sufficed, although I am not a huge fan of either to begin with. It is just too busy and and unflattering.
Selena Gomez
Selena Gomez - In a sophisticated black pantsuit, I feel she played it safe but definitely looked the part. I loved that she paired it with metallic gold accessories and a sleek hair do. However, next time I think she should have a little more fun, its an upbeat summer event. Keep the serious glam looks for the Oscars.

Kendall Jenner, Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner
Kendall Jenner - I love the look of a great pantsuit especially on someone who can pull it off. With her height and slim figure, Kendall had everything she needed to pull off this outfit. The great neckline and color of this pantsuit gave off a fashion-forward and modern feel. Unfortunately, the mesh pattern on the legs ruined the outfit for me as I found it unneeded and distracting as it diverted the viewers eyes from Kendall's face. It also took away the long lines of the pants that would make her look taller then she already is.  Another complaint I have is the hair, if you are going to slick it back just slip it into a pony tail; it would have looked much more fashionably rather then looking like she came freshly out of a pool.

Kim Kardashian - I love the leather crop top she choose to wear here, as it fit her well, gave an edgy vibe and showed off the great stomach she worked hard to get after having a baby a year ago. I have mixed fillings on the skirt. The length is great however the pattern I really can not decide if I like it or not. Its not terrible by far but I feel like the print could have been manufactured better.

Kylie Jenner - I absolutely loved this outfit, something I could see myself wearing to an event like this. A simple crop top with a stylish printed high low skirt. I love how simple yet sophisticated this outfit looks and makes her. Definitely an outfit that matures Kylie in a good way. Her two older sisters should be taking pointers.
Hailee Steinfeld
Hailee Steinfeld - Beyond a doubt, the worst dressed of the night. She looks like she should be going for tea, not an awards show.  The mixed patterns and fabrics as well as the high collar just looked very frumpy and old. She seemed to age herself well over her 17 years. A rule in fashion is to always be careful with how you place lace, as it gives off a delicate, soft vibe as well as an old ancient one. In small amounts it is flattering, but in big amounts it can age you dramatically. The flat and unfinished hair did not help her look out at all either.
          Best: Nina Dobrev
Nina Dobrev
Best: Lucy Hale
Lucy Hale
Nina Dobrev - Finally, a crop top and short combo done right. This sunset-pink, gold and lavender printed combo was very event-appropriate as well as just looking great. Her top cutting off at the right length and wearing her high rise shorts to the point wear just a sexy sliver of skin peeped out, gave this outfit a very fun and flirty feel. Her choose of pink stilettos and a romantic Rapunzel-ish braid pulled the outfit together perfectly.

Lucy Hale - Another hit on the blue carpet. This sexy yet sweet, mini-dress looked amazing on Lucy. The scarlet color, deep v (which can be hard to pull off without looking trampy) and length of the dress made her look sexy, while the bubbled skirt and wispy updo gave the sweet. The color also looked amazing on her especailly with the contrast of the carpet. Simple accessories kept the dress the main forcus which no doubt was the plan.

Hilary Duff
Hilary Duff - I was very disappointed with this outfit, especially from someone who's look and style I have always loved and admired. This two-part look featured a leather skirt that was a bit too long for her with pockets that stuck out and a top that was too high with awkward straps and an unflattering flower detail. I could almost like this outfit if those flowers were taken away and the crop top was shortened a tad.

Zendaya Coleman - Another great look of the night. This bright pink colored dress by Material Girl was very flattering and maturing on Zendaya. The big bow in the back was a fun and flirty touch that can be pulled off well for someone of her age. The piecey hair and smoky makeup gave the fun dress a more edgy look. Another great look would have been if she gave herself sleek straightened hair producing an even more sophisticated and mature vibe. To bring the sparkle, she wore tons of blingy rings and bracelets.

Business Wear Tips for Every Size Man

Hi Beauty Bees, (Even though most of you may be Men),

Beyond my favorite hobby of shopping and playing with makeup, I have always enjoyed reading. I recently picked up the book, "Dress Your Best" written by hosts of TLC's What Not to Wear, Clinton Kelly and Stacy London. I have watched there show for years and almost cried when I found out they wrote a book.

After reading through the many pages of women's fashion tips, I came upon the men's section and it also gave amazing tips for work (business), weekend and evening wear. In this post I want to share some of those helpful tips as well as previous knowledge on the topic. I will only be touching upon the business wear as I feel this is where most men tend to want or need the help in.

Essential Work Wardrobe Pieces (Minimum; Feel free to own more as it is encouraged)

a two- or three-button suit in a neutral color like black/gray/navy in a heavier-weight wool as well as a tropical-weight wool
minimum of six dress shirts in a variety of colors
six ties
two pocket squares
an overcoat
brown and black lace-ups
brown and black belts
leather briefcase

Every man is a different height and size so why give tips for only the "model" size guy. Below I have tips for men of all shapes and sizes but also general tips that do work for everyone.

Selected View
Striped Dress shirt
Mens Wearhouse -$79.59

Short Men Tips
Strong vertical stripes on a shirt are a good way to add some visual length
Cuffed pants cut the line of the leg while we are trying to elongate them; look for flat-front trousers because pleated pants require a cuff
Length of trousers; have only a slight break or fold rest atop your shoe, too much pooling at the shoes makes your look shorter
Monochromatic belt, pant and shoe combo gives the longest line possible on the leg

Traveler Suit Separate 3-Button Jacket- Sizes 48-52
Three-Button Suit
Jos. A. Bank - $185

Tall Men Tips
Three-button suits with slightly higher stance works well on you because it covers the surface of the torso and makes you look less lanky
Don't always run to the big and tall section; Try regular jackets, if its long enough to cover your butt, the length is fine. Just watch out for sleeve length, if its too short check to see if there enough material to be let out
Do not buy pants with more then one pleat, it adds volume in the hips and you don't want to look "hippy"
Bold chalk striped suits will work well with your height
Soft Constructed Sharkskin Jacket
Tommy Hilfiger - $289.99

Athletic Men Tips
Look for softly constructed jackets (no shoulder padding and lies flat) as it will help with your broad shoulders and high traps keeping your neck from disappearing under the material
Choose multicolored, striped button-front shirts as vertical lines prevent you from looking bulky. Shirts that fit well in the shoulders will be a bit loose in the waist, don't be discouraged, just take it to a tailor for alterations.
Work out your glutes? Tight pants? Find pants that fit well in the butt and get the loose waist tailored in.
Classic Fit Trouser
Banana Republic - $80

Bigger in the Middle Tips
Bigger men can handle more pattern so have fun with it and stand out
Wide straight-leg trousers are important. No pleats what so ever, they add bulk. No tapered leg, they make everything look wider.
A strong shoulder construction (meaning even a smaller shoulder pad) is good for balancing out a larger tummy
Boxy jackets are also great because they are roomier in the midsection and lends the appearance that the jacket is creating the bulk, not you.

All Men
Wear ties only with dress shirts and make sure you fit two fingers into your buttoned collar for comfort and proper fit
Proper fit in a suit starts at the shoulder, it should not extend past your natural shoulder but also make sure that you have full range of motion throughout when the jacket is buttoned
Always tuck in your dress shirts, it looks neater (Keep a clean Gig Line: shirt placket (the rectangle of fabric where the front buttons are located), belt buckle and trouser seam should all be aligned)
Don't shy away from bright colored or patterned shirts, remember you will only be seeing small amounts of it underneath your jacket and those brighter patterns (when paired with a darker jacket) bring the attention to your face as well as give your outfit a huge fashion forward impact
Casual Fridays does not mean jeans and a t-shirt, trade a suit for trousers and a colorful button-down shirt.
Belts should be bought two inches bigger then your waist size, gives you more comfort and room for daily needs--and meals

Hopefully these tips will help every size man when they go clothes shopping for work. Have fun, be yourself, and for all that's good and fashionably, don't pass on pieces or get discouraged when something does not fit perfectly. Tailors should become your best friend and always remember anything can be brought in or out.
