The Blush Tag

Hey Beauty Bees,

I am super excited for today's post because I get to talk specifically about one of my absolute favorite makeup products - blush! I was scrolling through some of my favorite beauty bloggers like A Little Dose of Makeup and Neon Blonde and noticed that they had both done "The Blush Tag". Both versions were different but it got me wanting to do it myself. I took questions from both and even added some of my own to share with you my love for blush! Also, you get to have a sneak peek into some of the different blushes I own.

7 Simple Additions To Your Daily Skincare Regime For Healthy Skin

When we say “skincare regime” we immediately think about our daily cleansing and moisturizing routine. We’re not going to talk about all that here because you’re probably doing them already. Instead, I’ll be showing you some useful skincare essentials beyond creams and cleansers.

A skincare regime basically refers to the things that you do to care for your skin. So, it can also include eating right and adopting a lifestyle that promotes skin health. Take a look at some of the simple additions you can make to your daily life for healthy skin:

1. Vitamin C – As Vitamin C is one of the most powerful antioxidants, it’s an essential addition to your daily diet. It can boost collagen production, helping you maintain healthy and supple skin. You can include vitamin-C-rich fruits and vegetables like broccoli, kale, grapefruit, collard greens, strawberries, parsley, and red and green bell peppers.

The Complete Guide For Women's Fashion

Sometimes we think that rats may be running the brains of people behind fashion shows. How else would you explain more than half the things that we see on the rostrum! That is why we propose you go with sensible fashion. This is a brand which is favored by most working women around the world. It won’t have you sitting uncomfortable and leave you with a bad case of ache in the evening. You do not have to become outright crazy to be called fashionable.

Fashion is about looking good and feeling good about yourself first and then anyone else. If you are uncomfortable at the end is the result really worth it. So, how to look good instead of following the catwalks and looking just outright weird? This is the eternal question, but more importantly it is the right question. We would suggest looking through the collection at American Eagle for some sensible fashion. However, there are three basic questions that you need to answer before you can bring out the best in you:

Trend Report Braids Mania - Guest Post by Peter Minkoff

Hey Beauty Bees,

I absolutely love braids and think it is the best accessory your hair can have! Today, I am sharing an amazing guest post by Peter Minkoff, who has actually written for Boston Beauty Buzz before. You can see his last post here - Best Themed Halloween Party Ideas.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Whatever the question may be, braids are now the ultimate answer! You need to learn how to make them as soon as possible as this is the hottest trend of the year 2016 which is bound to make you stylish in any occasion. A fun night out, strolling along the city, going to work, you name it!

It all started a couple of months ago when celebs started rocking them and the world went crazy about them. In January 2016 it was Kim Kardashian who amazed the world with her stylish boxer braids. Soon there was a hype over them and we saw Cara Delevigne nailing her edgy look with tight up-do with braids.  The magnificent Stella McCartney was the highlight of the British Awards when she nailed the look with a single side braid.

How to Style Them and Make a Perfect Braid

Making your hair look thicker and fuller is the key to any good hairstyle. Furthermore, you need to get a perfect hair brush which will make your hair ready for braiding. You need to brush your hair carefully to make sure there are no knots and tangles. Then, decide what kind of braids do you want and whether you will know how to do it or schedule an appointment at a beauty studio and be treated by professionals.
You can make a braid in no time. After brushing your hair, make a side parting. You will need to have to split the hair into three sections. Grab one outer part and cross it over, then grab another part from the other side and pull it to the middle and just repeat it until you have used all of the section hair. To get a firmer braid pull harder or to make beautiful boho braids – be light on your hair and make it loose. You will need to have a hair band to secure the braid.

One of the most common braids is the French one which you can easily make. Just follow the French braid DIY tutorial and enjoy your perfect new style. It is great for sweltering heat that lies in head of us, as you will look both stylish and free from hair causing you trouble in the hot weather.

If the French one is too basic for you and you feel like spicing up the braid game a bit, go for the Dutch braid. Follow carefully the Dutch Braid tutorial and you will look posh in a couple of minutes.

What to wear?

So, once you have figured out what kind of braid you want and you have made it, there is just one thing to take care of – the matching clothes.

Those of us who are in love with boho details will love matching the loose braid with it. Boho braids are great for early spring and summer as they make you seem romantic and fun while being so stylish. There is no more boho hairstyle than braids! So be sure to mix and match the right pieces to fulfil the look.
For the summer months you will need to check boho inspired women’s swimwear. The lovely 70s vibe swimsuits will perfectly match your braids and you can enhance the look by rocking a lot of statement jewelry. Match your favorite bikini top with a vintage denim short and a oversize sweater for those chilly summer nights.

As far as the day look, you could wear a white dress with a boho kimono to look stylish. Do not forget wedges and a half moon bag to make your outfit super stylish!

If you feel like nailing this boho trend at work, wear colourful dresses or a suit with boho Dutch braids and you will feel super-confident and relaxed as there will be no hair getting in the way in front of you.

The new braid trend is here to stay so you should find the right one that is just your thing and learn how to make it. This spring and summer you can look really boho if you go for the braids and matching details. We love it!

My 23rd Birthday Haul

Hey Beauty Bees,

As most of you already know, my birthday was this past week and I did one of my favorite things to ring in another year of life - shopping! Being apart of many free retail loyalty programs, I was gifted with a ton of birthday freebie coupons and gift card rewards to use toward a purchase in store. I was originally going to do just a very basic haul but after sharing the above photo on Facebook with a caption explaining I only spent around $20 for everything shown, I got a huge response. A lot of you were asking me to "share my ways" with you so that is exactly what I am going to do.

My 23rd Birthday Wishlist

Hey Beauty Bees,

We are just a couple weeks until my 23rd birthday and I have already noticed myself mentally counting down the days. Ever since I was a little girl I always got overly excited when my birthday came around. Now that I am getting older, that excitement is definitely still there but is more toned down. Instead of dreaming of colorful balloons, wrapped presents and birthday cake, I like to think about spending a whole day of doing stuff that I love to do like spending time with my loved ones or going out to new fancy restaurants. With life being super busy lately, (especially with starting a new job, which I will dedicate a post to in the future) it is hard to plan birthday activities. however I will try to take time to have some birthday fun.

I wanted to make it easier for anyone looking to make an Easter basket for someone who is a huge makeup and fashion fan like myself. I did a very similar post last year on my blog which you can read here if you want even more gift ideas!

Every other day the weather has been fluctuating between Winter and Spring. One day I am bundled in my Winter coat and boots and the next shedding my layers for just a light Spring jacket and cropped jeans. However, with a new season comes many new options in stores! Here is a list of some of the fashion pieces and accessories that I have had my eye on.

Younique Product Review with Brianna Dawn

Hey Beauty Bees,

There is a makeup brand that has taken the world by storm and has been getting a lot of attention in the beauty and online world. Younique is the first direct sales company to market and sell almost exclusively through the use of social media! They sell everything that you will need to help you "Feel Beautiful - Look Beautiful - Be Beautiful Inside and Out".

I have been very interested in getting my hands on some sample products to see what the whole uproar is about. Lucky for me I have an old high school friend who has jump started a very successful business in selling Younique products! Brianna so graciously sent me some samples to swatch and test out for you guys and I have been impatiently waiting to finally share with you what I think.

Spring 2016 Collective Beauty Haul

Hey Beauty Bees,

The other day while I was cleaning up my makeup vanity I noticed that I had a stockpile of different products that I have been collecting to blog about. I decided why not do a collective beauty haul since I have not done one of these in a while. This is an easy way for me to share with you what products I am going to be trying out for Spring.

This is going to be strictly a haul post as I have not tried out any of the products yet beyond swatches. If you are interested in me doing an in depth review on any of the following items, let me know in the comments and I will make note to do one in the upcoming future. Also feel free to let me know if you have tried any of these products and what you think of it.

Top 5 Spring Nail Shades

Hey Beauty Bees,

This is the time of the year that I just wish for some warmer weather and for the days to be extended with sunshine. I think we can all agree that we are over the snow and freezing weather, and ready to shed our bulky coats. Thankfully, Spring is just around the corner and one of my favorite parts of changing seasons is being able to switch up my beauty and fashion routine.

The easiest change to make is our manicures and is as simple as choosing a different color. I am a huge trend searcher but when it comes to my nails I honestly just choose what colors I like. I usually stick around these 5 color shades when I am looking for a Spring polish. Check out each shade and some of the polishes I choose from my nail polish collection below.

3 Things You Need to Learn About Minimalism

In a world where more asks for more, the minimalist look is a refreshing take on clutter-free style. Minimalist style is modern, it is clean and it exudes an effortless approach to fashion. From Sara Donaldson's blog Harper and Harley to Sabrina Meijer blog afterDRK and so many more, the minimalist take on fashion is being put at the forefront and given a new light on how beautiful this ostensibly simple style is.

Unlike other fashion looks, the minimalist one requires more thought, as the no-fuss choices mean you cannot simply throw things on in an eclectic manner as a boho fashionista would, instead, you have to have pieces in your wardrobe that speak to the minimalist style in themselves.

There are a few things you have to do if you want to become a minimalist style star. Starting out by looking at what you already have in your wardrobe is a good idea and once you have things sorted out, invest in a few good basics - solid colored long sleeved tops and pants. There is more that you can do to rock the minimalist look and the following are three tips to help you transition into a minimalist in an effortless way.

Sticking to black, white and grey is not the only option
The biggest misconception when it comes to minimalist style is that one should only stick to wearing black, white or grey. While it is common to see many minimalists stick to these three colours, it does not mean other colours are out of the question. Rather than choosing the colours others have associated with minimalism, take the time to choose which colours work best for you and invest in pieces that show your preferences off in solid colours.

Stick to one, maximum two, colours in an outfit
When it comes to building your look, minimalist style requires that you stick to one, maximum two colours in an outfit. Go for a stunning black dress, like these dresses from Designer forum, mix a nude skirt with a white crop top or go for a white on white ensemble. You can go for blush from head to toe or you can mix grey and orange to make a colour statement. Whichever colours you decide to wear, make sure that the clothing pieces you choose are in solid colours to exude that minimalist trait.

Aim for the architecture
The best thing about minimalist style is that it allows us to play with the architecture of the clothing. Devoid of bold patterns or florals, and having a solid colour showing every edge, every stitch of the piece of clothing, means you can wear pieces that have more of an architecture to them. Invest in tops that have bold shoulders or an asymmetrical shape; choose skirts with structured pleats and pants that are statement pieces in themselves. Make sure that you dont stop at wearing these pieces only for formal occasions, instead, rock them for day looks as well!

Boston Beauty Buzz 2016 Update!

Hey Beauty Bees,

We are a few days into the New Year and I have been thinking a lot about where I want to go with my blog as well as my life. With all my immigration paperwork finally in order, I will be a lot more busy in my life with searching for a job and starting college.

I had to make the decision if I wanted to continue my blog and how I would go about fitting it into my now busier schedule. It has been almost 2 years of consistent posting and I could not see myself just ending it abruptly because I have had so much fun and made so many relationships through this experience. With that I have decided to continue my blog into the New Year but with a new schedule.

I will be eliminating a day from my regular three weekly posts. Mondays and Fridays will be the two days that I will be able to commit to each week. From time to time I will post three times a week, with the third post being on a random day. This year I really want to work on the quality of my writing and only having two posts a week will help me from rushing pieces and put my best effort into each.

I am so excited for this year with all the post ideas I have thought of and all the company reviews I have lined up. I also can not wait to shine the light back on some of my older pieces of work that I think a lot of my readers enjoyed for any new audience members!

My readers are a huge support and I love hearing back from you guys on each and every post as well as on social media. You guys give me a lot of inspiration and I would love to get some feedback on post ideas you would like to see this year!

Thank you to everyone who read Boston Beauty Buzz in 2015 and I hope you enjoy continuing to read in 2016!

What I got for Christmas 2015

What I got for Christmas 2015
Hey Beauty Bees,

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and that Santa spoiled you greatly!! I had an amazing time spending Christmas with my Husband and family. I know this haul has been very postponed with all the traveling I have been doing and dealing with winter storms plus getting sick! The craziness has finally calmed down and I've finally gotten some spare time to snap some pictures of some of the gifts I got this year.

I absolutely love reading blog posts and watching Youtube videos of Christmas Hauls. With that said, I am in no way trying to brag or show off.  This is simply sharing with you the gifts I am so appreciative and grateful to receive from my loved ones.
