July Favorites 2014

Hey Beauty Bees,
It is a beginning of a new month and once again time for a monthly favorites. In the month of July I found myself gravitating towards the same beauty products over and over again, mostly consisting of products that created an everyday nude look. (If anyone is interested in an everyday makeup tutorial leave a comment below.) Also, with it being a very warm month most products worked extremely well in the heat. This month I have nine favorites...so lets jump in.
Urban Decay Naked Palette
This has been my go to palette since I first got it this past Christmas. I know all gurus constantly rave about this palette and it can get pretty old, but it is just perfect. It has so many different nude shades that can be used to create so many looks, whether you want a darker intense eye or a lighter more day friendly one. With 12 shades to pick from, I personally love combinations using these five shades. (Left to right: Half Baked, Smog, Darkhorse, Toasted and Hustle) They are amazingly pigmented and go on well, with next to no fall out when applying. I can not wait to get the next two Naked palettes. (Naked 2 and Naked 3, How original!)

Urban Decay Eye-shadow Primer Potion
This next product is the eye shadow primer I have been using lately with the Naked palette, coincidentally they came together...like they were meant to be....who would have thought? Joking aside, they do work very well together and this primer does exactly what it needs to do, keep my shadow on and looking vibrant all day long. I also find this primer to be the best for helping my eyeliner stay on as well. I normally only use pencil liners since liquid or gel liners tend to be too harsh on me for everyday.

Pop Beauty Lip gloss in Peony Petal
I received this lip gloss in an Ipsy bag a few months ago and I am in love. This lipgloss goes on so smoothly and the color is so pretty. Although formulated like a lipgloss, it looks almost like a lipstick by how pigmented it goes on lips. I have been complimented multiple times this month on my lip color which is different since I have never been a bright lip kind of girl. I tend to stay more neutral in the lips and then go for a bolder eye, but with it being summer time and seeing more women going for that bright lip I figured I could test it out and see how I liked it. Surprisingly, my Fiance noticed the change in my makeup routine and gave me two huge thumbs up. If there is anyone out there who is nervous in trying out a daring lip color I have a great tip for you, just wear it around the house until you get used to it yourself.

Rimmel Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed Powder in Buff Beige

This has been my favorite pressed powder for the past year. Every time I do my makeup this product is always used. It is the best powder for eliminating shine and setting my foundation and concealer. It lasts all day and I would highly recommend this for everyone. Even if your someone who does not like powders that add color, they have a shade in transparent that would work for you. I own two of these powders, one lives in my makeup collection and the other in my makeup bag in my purse so it will be with me at all times of the day.

They're Real! Mascara
This mascara is another product that I keep in my purse all the time. It is perfect since this is the smaller travel size. It volumizes, separates, lengthens, everything you want and need in a great mascara. I have never had a problem with it clumping although I have heard others say it has. The wand is the best as well since it can be used horizontally as normal or vertically to really give lashes some direct attention and length. This is the only mascara wand I have ever seen and used that has this aspect built in and I never realized how useful it actually is until I tried it.

Beauty Blender Sponge
This is a must have for every makeup collection. If I had to recommend only one tool to someone it would be this sponge. You just wet it then use it to put on your foundation and concealer. It helps it apply so well, while giving it an even dewy look. The wider end is perfect for blending out foundations while the tapered end is great for using around your nose and getting underneath your eyes. The bright pink color of it also makes it enjoyable to use, although mine is starting to get stained from my foundation meaning its time to clean it like you should all of your sponges and tools, even though we do wait longer then we should at times. (At least I know I do)

Squarehue nail polish in Placa Catalunya
This polish I used for the first half of the month and I got it in the Squarehue subscription box. It was my favorite color out of the three and it was just a fun color for the summertime. (Check out the review I did on it - http://goo.gl/vmer5t )
Essie nail polish in Mademoiselle
For the other half of the month, I wanted a more natural nail but was too lazy to give myself a full french manicure, so I just used this pale pink color and did one coat of it. It gave the illusion of a french manicure and gave my nails a nice shine. I have always loved Essie polishes and this is one of the first ones I have ever bought.

Victoria's Secret Bombshell Bodymist
In the summer time I tend to use more body sprays or splashes then heavy perfumes. The Victoria's Secret Bombshell scent is one that I recently found out about from one of my friends. She used it one night when I was with her and I fell in love with it. The very next day I went out and bought it in the perfume and body mist. Every single day I have been using it and as you can see in the picture I have hardly made a dent into it. The scent is a glamorous blend of purple passion fruit, Shangri-la peony and vanilla orchid. Victoria's Secret carries so many different products in this scent, so if you are not a perfume user and rather have a body-wash or lotion, they got your covered.

After a long night of scouring the internet for some new subscription boxes to try out, I came across something completely new, a weight-loss/fitness subscription box called Bulu Box.

"Bulu Box is the first vitamin, supplement and general health subscription sample box designed to help you feel your best. Every month, you'll get a box filled with 4 to 5 premium, curated samples from top brands. This subscription is only $10 a month, with free shipping.  What a great price for a box full of weight loss and fitness products that can usually be very  pricey.

I received the July 2014 box and here are all the interesting products that came inside:
1. Spatone Pur-Absorb Iron: 100% Natural Liquid Iron Supplement. It is very gentle on the stomach and can be diluted in half a cup of fruit juice or water.

7. Toniiq: A hangover prevention that restores the body, helps detoxify & support liver function, and boosts the body's natural defenses. You take the two black pills before bed and the white pill when you wake up, then you are ready for your day.

Also included were some coupons for products and websites: Cory Vines Active wear, Shapeology Products, and FitFusion.com.

Overall, it is a great box for someone who is interested in looking for products to aide them in there journey towards a better and healthier lifestyle. Personally, I could only see myself actually using a couple of the products in this particular box since some of the products do not really pertain to my lifestyle. Also, I am not comfortable testing out certain products that have not been recommended to me by a doctor beforehand, but like I said that is just me, everyone is different and you may be totally fine trying out different supplements and aides. I am in no way saying there is anything wrong with them,it is just my own personal choice not to use them. I do however have a lot of friends who I know would be interested in the ones I won't use so I will be passing them on to them to try out and recommending others to research more into these products if they are interested. I am excited to get another box to see what other types of products they give and hopefully they will be something I will be more likely to use. Work out DVDs, protein bars and healthy organic snacks are some of the items I saw in past boxes that I would be very interested in testing out.

This particular months box I would have given a rating of 2/5 only because the products inside were not to my personal liking but as I am doing this review as an overall subscription review here is my rating:

Beauty Bee Rating: 4/5

Check out Bulu Box's site for more information on this subscription as well as all the products mentioned above, plus more.

Use coupon code BULUGAN014 to get 50% off your subscription order.

*Disclaimer- I am not being paid to write this review however I was sent this box for free from Bulu Box. All opinions are my own and are based on my personal experience and liking of the products.

Shopping with the Fiance & Haul

Who else just loves to go shopping? With friends or alone, shopping is by far my favorite way to spend my time and relax. The other day my Fiance (Chris) and I took a trip up to New Hampshire to one of my favorite malls, Mall at Rockingham Park. It has quite a few of my favorite stores and what's better then no tax! This mall is more for the bargain shopper as there is no high end shops here.

This post will consist of two of my favorite blog/vlog posts; hauls and follow me around videos. So here's my afternoon at the mall:
Our first stop, of course, was Sephora. Usually I do a walk around, checking out any new products, but that day I was on a mission for a specific item, or shall I say items. I had seen a Too Faced set earlier that day on the Sephora website that I just needed to get. It is called the Too Faced Beauty Bloggers Darlings set and it comes with four products. This set cost only $20 but is worth $42. I will save the details as I will be doing a separate Beauty Buzz Trial on this set, so stay tuned.

The next store we headed into was Wetseal. With it being a store only for women, Chris got a little bored after just a few mins so we moved on to the next store. No purchases for this girl. :(

After perusing a few other stores and kiosks without any items catching our interests, we hit one of our favorite stores. Movies, movies and more movies. That pretty much sums it up. FYE welcomed us with open arms that day and with us being huge movie buffs, I can happily say we both extremely enjoyed this browse. After many shelves of blockbuster hits, TV show series and some other interesting pictures, here are the flicks we chose: Shawshank Redemption, Miracle, Rounders, and Romeo and Juliet. They were buy 1 get 1 half off, what a deal. (Leave a comment below if you would like a review on any of the movies)

At this point, we had been walking around and shopping for quite a while now. The aromas coming from the restaurant Bertuccis that was in our line of sight was starting to make our stomachs grumble so without even discussing it, we both knew that we were taking a break to have some dinner. I had never been to this restaurant before and I was highly impressed. Good food, fast service and a very welcoming dining room. I can definitely see myself going there again, especially for some of the stone oven pizza that was teasing me the whole time I was eating my meal.

With our stomachs full and energy reloaded we were ready to continue our journey through the mall. Next stop, Aerie. After looking around for a while I spotted a deal I could not pass up. Reversible sports bras for only $9.99. I don't know about you, but I live in sports bras when I am at home relaxing, so anytime I find a good deal on any cute ones, I have to pick them up.

Now you can not go to one store and then not the other, especially since they are very close in the mall line up. American Eagle has, is and forever will be one of my favorite stores. The last couple weeks I have had my eye on a muscle tank from here and lucky me, it was on sale! I got it for a steal of only around $8. Now for something I actually needed, well in women's eyes anyways. I needed a pair of white denim shorts. American eagle has always been my go to store for jeans, so denim shorts are definitely their fortay. This pair was on sale for $24.99 and fit like a glove. Chris however, was not impressed. Who else noticed how preppy the men's clothing has become? Once being his absolute favorite store, now just another store he will be waiting for me to be done browsing. (Thank god for the sofas most AE stores have in the back)

By the time we made it out of American Eagle, Chris and I realized we had a problem. I can make this very simple. Game Stop across from Pacsun. You can probably guess who went where. This time I came out of the store purchase-less, even with a B2G3 free deal. INSANE!! I know. Chris came out having preordered four games for Xbox One. (NHL 15, FIFA 15, Battlefield Hardline and Halo Master Chief Collection)

This second to last store is a place where Chris and I both enjoy going to, the Microsoft Store. Although we did not purchase anything, we had a lot of fun testing out some cool products that we would like to purchase in the future.
HP Omni 10 5610 Touchscreen Tablet

HP Omni 10 5610 Touchscreen Tablet.

Jambox.
Our final store of the day, which of course men always seem to repel, was Victoria Secret Pink. Good thing I already knew what I was getting. With the hotter months here, and our air conditioner battling with the heat, I had been searching for a light sleep tank to wear to bed at night. The one I found was colorful and exactly what I was looking for.

Concluding our trip to the mall, we had to fulfill the tradition we always do every time we go to this particular mall. Tutti Frutti Frozen Yogurt. I was quite disappointed in this location that day though because more than half of the flavors were not working, of course all my favorite ones.

Shopping bags in one hand and frozen yogurt in the other, we headed to our car feeling very accomplished in our shopping trip that day. What have you bought lately? Leave a comment below letting me know. :)

Beauty Buzz Trial - Ipsy Bag July 2014 "Sensationally Sunkissed"

What: Ipsy Glam Bags contain 4-6 deluxe samples and full sized beauty products in an exclusive makeup bag.

When: Bags ship monthly on the 10th

Cost: $10/month

Extras: You can review your products each month to earn ipsyPoints, which can be redeemed for monthly bonus items.

Every month I stalk my mailbox for this makeup subscription bag to make it to me. It has been one of the main sources to my massive makeup collection growth with its sample and full size products. It also has been a great way to experience new brands and products that I probably never would have given a chance. This months theme was "Sensationally Sunkissed". The make up bag was hot pink with scalloped edges and felt lining, it was love at first sight. What a perfect look and theme for a summer time bag.

Sexy Hair Soy Renewal Beach Spray (1.7oz Sample Value: $6.65)
Firstly, this stuff smells amazing. It was sent in a separate plastic baggie so it would not leak, but as soon as I opened up the signature pink bubble wrapper envelope I could smell it. After trying it out a couple of times, (on wet and dry hair), I can safely say this product works wonders on the hair. I liked spraying it on freshly washed hair and tousling for a beachy waved look. It also made my hair so soft and silky.
Pop Beauty Sunkissed Bronzer - Secret Sunshine (0.25oz Full Size Value: $10.00)
Although this is like the millionth Pop beauty product I have received from Ipsy (not denouncing the brand), I was extremely happy to see this full size bronzer. This matte brown bronzer made my face look sun-glowed instead of muddy or dirty like many other bronzers out there do. It is also highly pigmented, so a little goes a long way with this product.
Pixi Beauty Mini Tinted Brilliance Balm - Pretty Pink (1.8g Sample Value: $8.40)
Love...love...love...loooveeeeee this product. Love the color, love the pigmentation, love the formula. It went on so smoothly and felt so moisturizing on my lips. The only thing that I was not happy about was the fact that this product wasn't full size. I can already tell that this will be a lip crayon that I will be repurchasing once I run out.

BareMinerals 5-in-1 BB Advanced Performance Cream Eyeshadow - Divine Wine (0.03oz Sample Value: $5.40)
When I heard that BareMinerals was going to be making an appearance in this months bag I was very excited. I have never tried any of there products before and I was happy that I was going to be given the chance too. This cream eye shadow, although small in size, was an awesome product. The color is so pigmented that you only need to put the tiniest bit to cover your entire lid. Its lasting time was remarkably even without a primer. The color was also right up my alley.

Hang Ten Dark Tanning Oil SPF 8 (1oz Sample Value: $1.50)
This final sample was very interesting. I have not been able to try it out yet but I have had experiences with the brand, which were all good. The size of this sample is very generous especially for an oil where you do not need to use a lot at a time. I love the fact that this oil has SPF in it, meaning that it will help give your skin color without letting it burn. A tanning oil was definitely a good choice for a summer themed bag and I can not wait to try it out the next time I head to the beach.

July's bag was valued at $31.95 and contained four samples and one full sized product. Although bags in the past have averaged a higher value, this did not lessen my excitement for this bag. I can see myself using every product including the bag itself. Overall, I was completely impressed with this bag.

Did you receive an Ipsy bag? What kind of items did you get?

Beauty Bee Rating: 5/5
